| East Haven Memorial was started in 1939 when Salvatore Longobardi decided to expand the family business from Chaple St. in New Haven. Longobardi Funeral Home had been in business in New Haven for over 30 years, starting on Green St. around 1906 and moving to Chaple St. in 1918. Salvatore worked with his Father and Brother for many years. He felt East Haven would make a great place to raise his family and start his new business. |

| Sal passed on in 1989 and left the funeral home in the hands of his daughter Josephine L. Brennan and 2 grandsons David and James Brennan. The business still stands on Main St., the spot where Sal started over 68 years ago, making it one of the oldest family run businesses in East Haven. Both Dave and Jim grew up in East Haven and graduated from St. Vincent DePaul School and East Haven High School. Both are still members of St. Vincent DePaul parish and are involved in many town activities. The Brennan family is very proud to be 4th generation funeral directors, and even prouder to continue to serve the community they grew up in. Helping to make the tough times easier for friends and neighbors is what they strive for. |
